The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) bases its seven week training academy on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University. It provides training support staff who aid DJJ training personnel in the design, development, delivery of professional development opportunities for ,detention, youth development, day treatment, group home and community-based staff.

The JJTC provides administrative and training support services to the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).
